Sanctification: A resurrection to real Christian living

In order to live in the fullness of God's Spirit one must die and empty out completely to self. After death to the Old Man takes place - resurrection occurs. Man cannot be resurrected unless he dies first. Resurrection is real life under the full control of the Holy Spirit. Resurrection is a completed work of God's sanctifying power that rids the believer from a still existing Adamic life. Resurrection cannot take place until one dies first to self, self habits, and selfish ambitions.

Colossians 3: 1-3...If ye then be risen (resurrected) with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

A dead man is put in the grave. A dead man does not show the old life anymore. The old life is buried and gone. The resurrection by God's Holy Spirit makes the Christian life "hid" in Christ. No longer are the old deeds from the old man carried out anymore.

Colossians 3: 4-10...Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
"To mortify deals with the characteristics of the former physical life of a sinful man before God's Grace comes in. The acts, habits, ambitions, and affections of a sinner are the exact opposite of those same faculties within the child of God. To mortify deals with the physical actions of a Christian that struggles with the Adamic life - which can be completely put off. The physical acts of anger, filthy communication, aggravation, pride, and fornication are put off and not allowed when God destroys the Adamic life. Love for God and love for fellow man are the physical fruit of a child of God's character- after mortification. This lifetime fruit is put on. In mortification the physical character of a child of God is completely renewed by the operation of God's Holy Spirit".
The sanctified life is found through an experience that takes place "after" Salvation. The sanctified life is a resurrected life delivered from self and selfish ambitions. The sanctified life is a renewed life freed from the bondage of self. The sanctified life is physical experience of God's Spirit taking "full possession" of the spirit, soul, and body of man.

1 Thessolonians 5:23-24...And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

The purpose of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire (pt.2)...by Rick Roehm

  1. Biblical proof the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire continued after Pentecost

Records from the book of Acts prove manifestations of the Holy Ghost continued for years after Pentecost. Different Biblical terms yet the same action of the Spirit of God provide much clarification on the subject of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost. Notice the language concerning the Baptism with the Holy Ghost which occurred at different points of time.

·          Shed Forth…Acts 2:33…Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

·          Fallen upon…Acts 8:15-17…Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost

·          Poured out…Acts 10:44-46…While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.

·          Came on…Acts 19:2-6…He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

  1. Twofold evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire: Inner and Outer

There are two evidences shown in the New Testament concerning the Baptism with the Holy Ghost. These are the … inner and outer evidences. Both evidences prove the work of the Holy Ghost in the entire anatomy of the child of God. Both evidences which are Biblically documented offer proof that believers can experience this same sanctifying work of Holy Ghost in their hearts and lives today. Both evidences are Biblical truth that did not stop at the early Church like many believe and teach today. There are no Biblical records that state the gifts of the Holy Ghost stopped at the Early Church however; there are many records that state these gifts continued after Pentecost.

Lack of recognition of the Holy Spirits presence; and erroneous teachings have caused many to be hindered from; or to miss the truth and full blessing of the sanctifying power that comes through the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire.

The inner evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost is a heart full of love and obedience toward God. Love for God and love for humanity comes when selfishness is purged from the heart and life of a believer. A Salvation without wavering in holiness and right standing with God comes when the Old man is taken out of the picture. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost reduces the hearts of men to humility for Christ… after self-centeredness is removed. When the heart of a believer is purified from all the dross of the body of sin (not dealt with in the new birth), the Indwelling Spirit takes over. Inner evidence from the purifying work of the Spirit is to be holy and without blame before Him in love. A man filled with the Holy Ghost will have no struggle with the problems of life; he will trust Christ for everything. The conflict within a believer’s members is taken away like his sins were forgiven when he first accepted Christ. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire is another experience of Salvation that takes place in the life of a believer, after the new birth.  The inner evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost is a life of peace and contentment that rules the heart of a believer. Victory over sin and the flesh is real life experience that offers such contentment. This purifying work of the Holy Ghost and fire in perfect love for humanity is the fullness of Salvation taught in all New Testament writings.

The outer evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost is speaking in an unknown tongue. There are two reasons why speaking in unknown tongue is for today and did not stop at the Early Church.

First, in the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire, God takes full possession of the believer spirit, soul and body (the entire anatomy of man). The tongue can be controlled by the Spirit of God because the heart of the believer is controlled by the Spirit of God. Men that are filled with the Holy Ghost are dead to the Old man and governed by the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost has full sway of man’s total being, tongue included. Holy men of God speak in tongues as the Spirit gives them utterance.

·          Acts 2:4…And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Second, numerous records in the New Testament prove that when the experience of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost was received, recipients spoke in unknown tongue. The Bible teaches that unknown tongues continued nineteen years after Pentecost. The Bible teaches the Apostle Paul spoke in unknown tongue. Nowhere does the Bible teach these gifts stopped at the Early Church as many try to teach!

·          Acts 2:4…And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

·          Acts 19:2-6…He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied

·          Acts 10:44-46…While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.

·          1 Cor 14:2-4…For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.  But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.  He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

  1. The necessity of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire

In the plan of God through redemption, Salvation of the soul in the new birth is perhaps one of the greatest miracles that come’s from the Throne of Christ. Even greater is the purifying work of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire that is granted from Christ to the heart and life of a believer.  The beauty of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire is a full Salvation that provides everything man needs to have victory over sin, self, and lusts of the flesh. Temptation doesn’t have the same affect on a man baptized with the Holy Ghost and fire. The inner conflict between self and the Holy Ghost is taken away by the power of this Baptism. The peace of God “rules” this heart and life every minute, every hour, and every day. A contented life in Christ without the inner conflict and without an entanglement to the problems of life is just another blessing that comes from this Baptism.

It’s understood that all have not experienced the blessing of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire, “but they can”.  It’s understood that many miss the full blessing of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost because of shallow understanding of the Spirit’s presence or wrong teaching; but the God’s door is still open for them to walk through. Some people take the position that a child of God can never have full Salvation in this life (that Sanctification is future tense work of the Holy Ghost finished when the soul goes to Heaven). The Holy Ghost can show them otherwise. The doctrine of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost is a present tense truth and New Testament experience.

During Christ’s earthly ministry Peter had a revelation of Christ’s Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. Why? Peter had a divine nature. Peter however; didn’t understand that Christ had to suffer, die, and would rise from the grave. After the death of Christ Peter was baptized with the Holy Ghost and fire at Pentecost and his understanding was changed. Peter’s entire character was changed by the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire that he received at Pentecost. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire was received by Peter fifty days after Christ’s death on the cross. Peter had believed in the Messiahship of Christ for years prior, however; he had not yet experienced the Baptism with the Holy Ghost. After the death of Christ the Holy Ghost inspired Peter to write two Epistles. The fullness of Gods Salvation came after Peter was “filled” with the Holy Ghost at Pentecost.  Jesus predicted the work of the Indwelling Spirit when He told the disciples prior to His death that the Spirit of truth shall be “in” you. Shall be in you was a promise stated by Christ.

·          John 14:17...Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire is a necessary experience for the child of God. It makes every believers witness true to both, God and man.  It purges a believer from doubt and uncertainty. It gives men strength to overcome and remain faithful to Christ every minute of there existence. It keeps men from wavering in and out of faith. It’s more than the new birth. Why? There’s no struggle on the outside or war from within to oppose the Spirits presence. It’s the final work of the Holy Ghost in the heart of believer. It can be received on this side of Heaven. The Hebrew letter describes this final work of the Holy Ghost as the… spirits of just men made perfect (Perfection in this verse deals with the present tense work of sanctification…not future tense as some people teach).

·          Heb 12:23…To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

The purpose of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire (pt.1)...by Rick Roehm

The Holy Ghost is the third person of God, in the Divine Trinity. The work of Holy Ghost in the Godhead reveals the sin of man, his rejection of Christ, and doubt to the human conscience. How? By stirring the conscience and showing man what he really is in the presence of Christ. Sanctification through the Spirit is the will of God for all men. The initial work of the Holy Ghost is conviction and repentance for the sinner.  This ministry of the Holy Ghost turns the penitent from sin to Christ, for salvation of the human soul. The sanctifying work of the Holy Ghost relates to the child of God (after Salvation) where the believer’s heart is purged from the inherited Adamic nature. The final work of the Spirit (in this life) through the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire will be the central focus of this discourse. Its content will describe how, when, and why this Baptism performed by Christ deals with a part of a believer not dealt with at the new birth.

  1. All believers need the sanctifying work of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire

Reason: The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire is the cleansing work of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a Christian, not the sinner. This purifying work of the Holy Ghost has nothing to do with initial Salvation in the new birth where the believer receives a new nature. This Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire is another Christian experience that comes after the new birth. The purpose of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire is God’s deliverance from the Adamic nature.

Through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross the miracle of Salvation of the human soul is granted to those who “trust in Christ’s death for the forgiveness of sins”. Within that miracle is a new birth where that believer receives a divine nature. The divine nature allows the believer to live a holy life in the sight of God and the new nature takes over. Greater is He…

There is no struggle to do right in a believer’s life; however when there is a lack of recognition to this power, self still tries to rule the mind, soul, and body. This inner conflict wars against the power and will of the Holy Spirit’s directive. Why? The Adamic life and memories of it still exist in the life of a believer and thus tries to rule the mind, soul, and body even though a new nature was given by the power of the Holy Spirit in the new birth.

The miracle of the new birth is an instantaneous work of the Holy Ghost in the soul of a penitent sinner. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire likewise is an instantaneous work however; this operation of the Holy Ghost deals with the believer instead of the sinner. Unlike the new birth received by the sinner, the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire deals specifically those who know Christ. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire allows God to deal with a part of this believer not dealt with at the new birth.  What is not dealt with in the new birth? The old life man experienced! That old life was forgiven in the new birth and all past guilt was taken away. But memories of man’s fallen nature still try to be recognized. The only way a believer can get rid of this old life is through crucifixion of the old life and the sanctifying power of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire that destroys that part of man, entirely.

The Adamic nature which once ruled the sinner does not rule those who trust in Calvary for the forgiveness of sins.  The memories of an old nature are still there but these have been overcome by the power of the Holy Spirit’s presence. The Adamic life continues to war against the believers consciousness to the Holy Spirit’s presence. This requires the great need for a believer to get rid of the inner conflict not dealt with at the new birth.

The sanctifying work of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire” came upon” believers, not sinners on the day of Pentecost. This Baptism by Christ was an instantaneous work at one stroke at the hand of the Holy Ghost and not a progressive work as some profess.  Why do Christians need the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire? It’s a more complete work of the Spirit for the believer. It’s the power of the Holy Spirit’s presence that delivers and sanctifies believers in Christ completely from the Adamic life. This sanctifying power a spiritual baptism by Christ in the heart of a believer makes Christian’s better witnesses for the Lord Jesus Christ.

·          Acts 1:8…But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you ;and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire has no relationship to Water Baptism in any manner. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire deals primarily with an inner conflict from the Adamic life that hinders the believer from having all the Spirit of God has to offer in Salvation. This purifying work of the Holy Ghost that removes the believer’s conflict with the Spirit… is the predestinated will of God for all believers. It’s the fullness of God to some however; vague to others due to lack of recognition of the Holy Spirit’s presence in their lives; or vague because of erroneous indoctrination.

After the new birth, a believer’s conscience desires to become totally subject to the presence of Christ. The conscience of a believer desires to be without sin or an inner conflict with self. The presence of the Holy Ghost allows a believer to constantly see himself in light of a Savior. In this believer’s relationship with the Savior, the Holy Ghost reveals the need for death to the Old life. This cutting away of all that a believer is points to the work of the Holy Ghost dealing with the negative part of that believer. When the believer actually dies to all that he is and puts off the Old man, the power of the Indwelling Spirit (through Baptism) destroys indwelling sin. The body of sin is no longer in conflict with the old life; it’s destroyed through the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire.

·          Rom 6:4-6…Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

  1. Conditions to receive the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire

This discourse was written to highlight the power of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. It’s important to understand the Sanctifying work of the Holy Ghost is not limited in power. Regeneration deals with the sinner. Sanctification deals with the saint. The sanctifying work of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire takes the believer away from a self life and thus makes him totally subject to Christ. How? The presence of the Holy Ghost reveals Christ’s suffering and death to the heart of a believer. In contrast Christ’s death and suffering shows the believer the need to die to the Old life. Through the believer’s recognition of Christ as Savior helplessness and nothingness from the Old man is likewise revealed. “Death (burying the old life) becomes the believer’s path to receive the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire”.

Believer’s need deliverance from an inner conflict as the presence of the Holy Ghost makes Christ known to that heart. Unlike the sinner who doesn’t know Christ, a believer continuously sees himself in the presence of the Holy Ghost. What is revealed? A believer in light of Christ sees a need to die, and to get away from the selfishness caused from the old life. Through the work of the Holy Ghost a believer has a God given desire to put off the former lifestyle.

·          Eph 4:22…That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts

Without Christ a believer has no strength of his own to overcome the old life. A believer is powerless to such struggle that tries to rule the mind, soul, and body. A believer knows his sins were forgiven at the cross. A believer knows he received a new nature when he turned to Christ for forgiveness. Enlightenment from the presence of the Holy Ghost allows this believer to realize only God can purge his heart from a still existing struggle with the old life. Without death to the Old there can be no renewal from the Holy Ghost. Deliverance from that struggle is the reason for the blessed experience of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. Only those that know Christ through the presence of the Holy Ghost can experience this completed work of God termed as Sanctification.

Ponder the lives of Peter, John, and James. Did you notice they did not receive the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire when they first believed? The Bible doesn’t teach that man receives the Baptism with the Holy Ghost in the new birth. Why? The unbeliever doesn’t acknowledge the presence of the Holy Ghost until after his sins are forgiven. Then after Salvation, the believer’s recognition of Christ allows the presence of the Holy Ghost to reveal and rid man of the selfish part that was not dealt with in the new birth. Crucifixion revealed through the presence of the Holy Ghost is a path to the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. After the old man is put off, the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire is performed by Christ …at one stroke.

·          Col 3:9…seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

·          Matt 3:11…he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

The presence of Holy Ghost shows the sinner his need to get away from old life and all old associations; likewise the presence of the Holy Ghost shows the believer his need to get away from everything pertaining to the old ways. Remember, the presence of the Holy Ghost reveals the negative side of man to the saint. When the believer totally surrenders to Christ, he will bury the old life. Then at one stroke from the hand of God the believer will “put on” the new man. The new man is created through the purifying operation of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire.

·          Col 2:12… Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God

·          Col 3:10…And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

The Bible does teach various modes of Baptism however; the intent of this discourse is to magnify Christ as the one who baptizes with the Holy Ghost and fire. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire received at Pentecost was not the works of man nor was it performed through water Baptism. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire comes from the Throneroom where a believer’s faith in Christ should remain every minute, every hour, and every day…without wavering. As promised by the Father Christ baptizes with the Holy Ghost and fire.

·          Luke 24:49…And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

·          Acts 1:4-5…And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.  For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

·          Matt 3:11…he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

  1. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire began on the day of Pentecost

The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire was promised by the Father and has been ministered under Grace since the day of Pentecost. The power and presence of the Spirit of Truth was taught by the Lord Jesus himself before His ascension to Heaven. God’s plan (through the Divine Trinity) understood man’s need to overcome sin and struggles caused from the flesh. The omnipresence of Holy Ghost under the Grace dispensation we now live in provides every believer with such power of deliverance. Christ knew the fullness of the Spirit would come through His body, the Church. Christ knew the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire was an enduement of power that would produce fruit in the heart and life of every believer from Pentecost until the Rapture of the Church.

·          Luke 24:49…And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

God’s preparation for the Rapture of the Church...The inner work of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a believer

• The Holy Spirit reproves the hearts of sinful men and leads them to repentance. John 16:8-9...And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me;

• After repentance the Holy Spirit baptizes the believer into the body of Christ.1 Cor 12:13... For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

• A believer is thus sealed with the Holy Spirit...Eph 1:13...In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

• A member of the body of Christ is regenerated by the Spirit of God through the new birth. Titus 3:5...Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

• The Holy Spirit testifies and reveals Christ to the hearts of members of the body of Christ...John 15:26...But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

• The Holy Spirit shows members of the body of Christ how to get rid of the Adamic nature that still tries to rule their lives...Rom 6:6...that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

• In the baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire…The Holy Spirit purifies the heart of the believer from the Adamic life and nature that still tries to rule...Acts 15:8-9...And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

• After the sanctifying power of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost is experienced, members of the body of Christ are…renewed by the Spirit. Rom 12:1-2...that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

• All believers patiently await the Rapture of the Church. 1 Thess 4:13-17...But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

• The Church (universal) in the Rapture is a Church that is holy, and without spot or blemish...Eph 5:27...That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Complete freedom from the Adamic Nature

It has been my privilege to research and write about the Adamic Nature and it's relation to the human soul for over 25 years. During these years I have written a series of documents on the subject of the Adamic Nature. These were developed and found to be placed into a sequential order on the Internet. God has opened doors for these writings to be published and scattered around the Globe. Through life's Spirit led endeavor to preach Christ and share Bible Truth, God has allowed me to develop a System of Theology and Internet library...for you the reader. This Theological Library is found easy and free on Google and the Internet by searching for the Adamic Nature . Enjoy this latest exposition on the subject of, "Freedom from the Adamic Nature."

The subject of the Adamic Nature is as subject that many people lack full understanding about. Some students fail to realize the Divine Nature is greater than the Adamic nature. Some say you always have to live with the Adamic Nature regardless of the Divine Nature received in the new birth. Some feel you have to live under sin's rule your whole life as a child of God. From the pulpits across our nation today, countless hearers are being told that the Adamic Nature is greater than God's Grace. This concept is "NOT" Biblically correct. The Bible states, "Greater is Christ and His God-given nature to the new born Christian!" The intent of this writing is to convey what God says about the matter. Not man!

God's holiness is greater than any man's unholiness. In the Grace Covenant we now live under God's Holiness is given to the believing heart and found within the make-up of child of God. Sinners are called to holiness by the preaching of the Gospel message. In the conversion of a sinner when old things pass away "all" things become new. "New things" include the Divine nature given to man which is created by God in the new birth. The new birth is a birth of the new God-given nature of righteousness and holiness. The Divine Nature is granted to fallen man as a result of the broken will that comes through belief and trust in a Savior for personal forgiveness. When the will of fallen man is broken by the Spirit of God the believer (for the first time in his life) has power over the dominion of sin; the lusts of the flesh; and wrongful living. The make-up of a child of God thus is made, "holy".

The Biblical fact of the matter is, "God gives the penitent sinner (which is a believer in Christ) power the do right or what the Bible terms as righteousness. The blessing of God's imputed righteousness flows from the power of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ... into the believing heart" of the penitent. Grace comes into the believing heart. Holiness comes into the believing heart. Righteousness comes in, and the Divine nature comes in. A new creature in Christ is birthed from above. The old will of fallen man was broken. The clean heart from Christ was given. A desire to quit sin was given to the believing heart. A clean conscience came when all guilt from past sins was removed. Grace thus abounds in righteousness and holiness. No condemnation in Christ. Greater is He that is "now" in you. The make-up of a child of God becomes clean and holy...with God-given power to do right.

What does this mean concerning the Adamic Nature? Does the Adamic Nature still exist? If the Divine Nature is greater what about the Adamic Nature? The Adamic Nature still exists...but doesn't rule. The Divine Nature rules and God's Grace is greater than the Adamic. This is Bible Truth. Where sin abounds Grace does much more abound. The problem lies in what people are being told and being taught about the Old Adam. People are taught the Adamic Nature will always get the best of you.  People are taught they will always have to live with this condition. People are misled into believing such falsities. These human opinions and traditional teachings have caused men to fail God, and fall from God by the thousands maybe millions.

The Bible teaches about the Adamic Nature and how to have freedom from its rule and dominion. The New Man is greater than the Old Man. Christian's live the new way (which is holy), not the old way of unholiness. Rebellion against God ceases when you get to Calvary and find forgiveness. Then, and only then can the Spirit of God can show the believing heart how to get rid of the still existing Adamic Nature. The new birth is a new creature with a new way of life. The Adamic Nature only "tries" to rule the new creation in Christ. The Adamic Nature does not rule. There will be memories of the old life but the new life prevails. There will be temptations relating to things you used to do but now you know better. There are old associations but God has shown you how to stay clear of such. This is the truth behind God's opinion and not man's opinion.

The Holy Spirit convicts the sinner and breaks the fallen will enough for fallen man to believe. After conversion the Holy Spirit shows this believing heart how to get away from the Adamic Nature that still tries to rule the life. This is where the power of God comes back into play. The power behind God's Spirit of Holiness shows man "death to self". Self being the place of entry to conflict with the Divine Nature. Self being the weak link into the make-up of the believing heart. Self being the object of God's sanctifying power in the life of a believer. The will of a saved man must now be "crushed" or "destroyed" completely. The Adamic Nature has to be dealt with by the sanctifying power of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. This baptism which comes after the new birth is God's method of freedom and deliverance from the still existing Adamic Nature.

God gives forgiveness to the sinner but He also gives freedom from the Adamic Nature to the saved man. Yes, you can have complete deliverance from the Old Adam in the baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. In this blessing of sanctification from the Old Adam you don't only have a broken will, you now have a will completely "crushed" by the power of the Holy Spirit. The human will and self is taken out of the picture. The white flag of surrender goes up. The old man is crucified. The old man is buried.  The old man is put to death. I give up Lord, I'm yours completely. Thank You Jesus.

Freedom from the Adamic Nature is Bible Truth based on leaving Romans 7 and getting into Romans 8. Freedom is not just the broken will but the will is completely crushed! Like being Issac instead of Ishmael. Like coming out of the wilderness and having a Mt. Zion experience. Glory! The Old Adam can be put to death completely. The body of sin can be destroyed. God said so! You can be freed by Grace. Freed from the Old Adam. Delivered from the body of sin that wasn't dealt with when you got saved. Not forgiven...but delivered. No more inner conflict. Surrendered completely. The flesh is crucified  Dead to the old you. The Adamic nature cannot be confessed. The Adamic Nature must be destroyed by God. When God destroys the Adamic Nature you will be "free".

Romans 6:6...Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Ephesians 4:22 - Put Off the Old Man (part 3 of 3)...Hubert T. Lindsey

...Remember the context of the Ephesian Letter... "putting off the Old man relates to a saved man"... not a sinner. Enjoy this conclusion of three parts about "putting off the Old man" which is a subject expounded on by Brother Lindsey that's not taught on much today.

The error of what some people think Sanctification is

Sanctification is not based on what we do. Sanctification is based on what we are. What is man? Man is a sinner by nature; a fallen being; and polluted with sin from birth. Sanctification has nothing to do with the new birth. The new birth only makes men eligible to be sanctified. Sanctification is not a progressive work performed by God as many people think. Sanctification is a completed and final work of the Spirit of God that "removes" the Adamic Nature from the life of a new born Christian. So often people want to believe sanctification is a process. Not so! It's the action of God's Grace that removes the Adamic Nature from the heart of man.

In relation to (2) types of sin (the sinful acts; and the sinful nature) an illustration can be drawn to show the vast difference between regeneration and sanctification. Regeneration is an initial work of the Spirit of God that takes place "after" man is Justified; and declared innocent by God from Heaven. Justification deals with the "acts of sin". Sanctification deals with the sinful nature inherited from the fall of Adam. A child is polluted with the Adamic Nature in the womb of is mother.

Man is rid from all sinful acts when Christ is trusted in and accepted for personal forgiveness found in Salvation that flows from Calvary. Regeneration of the human soul takes place when the new birth is found. The Adamic Nature still exists and tries to rule after regeneration. A regenerated man has power to do right, but the Old Nature still tries to rule. This Old nature that still tries to rule is only dealt with through Sanctification that is an instantaneous experience. The Bible terms this experience as the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. This work of the Spirit of God does not relate to forgiveness of sins it directly relates to the "removal" of the Adamic nature.

The (still existing) Adamic nature cannot be confessed because it is not an act of sin committed by man. The action of man's sins are only dealt with in the power of God's Justification by Grace. The nature of man's sin is dealt with only through the sanctifying power of God's Holy Spirit found in the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire (like on the day of Pentecost). This sanctifying work is not a progressive work but received right on the spot.

The two natures of man (divine and carnal) are not equal. Why? Greater is He in you...The divine nature gives the regenerated soul "power to do right". This God given power is what keeps the child of God from falling short or falling back into sin. Holiness of heart is found here. The Divine nature is the path to receive the sanctifying power of God that "rids" or "removes" the Adamic Nature from the life of a Christian. Sanctification is not a process or gradual separation from worldly things or dying to self. Sanctification takes place when the Indwelling Spirit of God "removes" and "rids" man from Indwelling Sin that still tries to rule a child of God.

The intent of this Blog is to clarify the "error" that many people think Sanctification is. Christians don't live to be Sanctified. Christians get sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost so they can really "live". The struggle of the carnal nature is removed in sanctification. The Old Man is buried and not shown anymore. Sanctification is found and experinced when the Adamic Nature is "destroyed". Read it in Romans 6:6! Don't be caught up in the error of understanding what Sanctification really is.

Speaking in tongues...Hubert T. Lindsey...(2 CD's)

This audio on the subject of "Speaking in Tongues" by Brother Hubert Lindsey goes hand in hand with blessing of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. Brother Lindsey was a former Baptist who did not lean to this doctrine or persuasion during the early years of his ministry, but after clarification came from the Word of God Brother Lindsey's doctrinal position changed. This radical change after 30 years in the ministry came after the Word of God revealed truth and later led Brother Lindsey to receive the sanctifying power of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. Review this excellent commentary with an open heart and allow the Spirit God to reveal the truth of God's Word.

Commentary on Water Baptism...Hubert T. Lindsey...(4 CD's)

This commentary by Hubert T. Lindsey on the subject of Water Baptism is the most thorough and exhaustive commentary you will ever find in our modern religious Age. It's contents are condensed from (4) audio recordings collected over a period of 70 years and placed onto (4) separate audio players that are now published on the Internet for edification of the body of Christ. Each audio player contains a wealth of Biblical knowledge in each one hour setting... but the overall study (4 hours) on Water Baptism is not complete unless you review all four one hour audio segments.

The foundation of Water Baptism comes from the laws of purification taught in the the Old Testament records. Having been tutored by a Jewish Rabbi for 15 years Brother Lindsey is able to unfold and explain with clarity the many reasons why so many denominations go separate directions on the how, when, and why Water Baptism in our modern Age. Brother Lindsey uses the Greek Text of the Bible to define the many various modes of Water Baptism. Distinction will be made between the Spirit's Baptism into Christ, The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and Fire in sanctification, and various modes of water Baptism performed by men, like sprinkling, pouring, immersion, for remission of sins, public confession, infant baptism for removal of Original Sin, etc.

Enjoy your study that is easily available for in length and in depth review. Take all the time you want to study this teaching. May the Spirit of God minister truth and confirmation to your heart and soul about the Blessing of God's Grace and Bible truth about Water Baptism. Thanks for stopping by the Churches on Trial Blog. It is a blog dedicated to Brother Hubert Lindsey and his life as a servant and minister for Christ.

Hubert Lindsey's Baptist realization of the power of Divine Grace, "after" Justification

The Baptist denomination strongly advocates the initial invitation and acceptance of Christ in Salvation but that’s as far as they take the Christian experience! Baptist’s emphasize Salvation of the human soul but do not advocate the cleansed heart, the life of holiness, and the believers obedience to God that follows after one receives the forgiveness sins from Christ. The doctrine of Regeneration through the Spirit; Justification by faith; and the new birth where a divine nature is received… are taught under the Baptist persuasion. The doctrine of Entire Sanctification through the Baptism with the Holy Ghost is not! This experience is what Hubert Lindsey claimed he had missed for 26 years as a Calvinist.

Contrary to many denominational beliefs (not just Baptist), the Bible teaches that Entire Sanctification comes in another Baptism which is the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost is not a baptism into Christ where a new nature is received through the new birth experience. The baptism with the Holy Ghost is a baptism from Christ in Heaven that cleanses the believer’s heart from a still existing Old Adam that conflicts with the Divine nature received in the new birth. God revealed to Brother Lindsey another baptism through the work of the Holy Spirit that was not Water Baptism by immersion. Brother Lindsey claimed he baptized 9000 people. This particular baptism I speak of pertained to the Spirit’s work of Sanctification that destroys the carnal heart. This is the experience that Brother Lindsey had always claimed he was missing. It was a baptism that a believer receives after the new birth! Hubert then realized that Water Baptism through the ages had pulled men away from understanding the sanctifying power of the Pentecostal experience! The Pentecostal experience is a Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire performed by Christ upon a believer… not a sinner! The Baptism with the Holy Ghost has no relation to water Baptism by immersion performed by a preacher.

The purpose of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire does not deal with the new nature received after God justifies a sinner. God’s declaration of Justification deals with a penitent man! The sanctifying power of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost deals with the old nature that still exists in the life of the penitent believer after God’s Justification is declared! God revealed this to Hubert’s thinking! Hubert realized where he missed it! The Bible teaches that any believer can receive the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire... in this life. This Baptism takes away the process of getting sanctified in heaven after you die! Sanctification performed by Christ from the Throneroom is not performed by a preacher through any act of water baptism. John the Baptist spoke of sanctification when he said, Christ would baptize with the Holy Ghost and fire”. Contrary to the Baptist doctrine and Calvinism God showed Hubert there was more for the believer that followed the new birth. God confirmed to Hubert Lindsey the Sanctifying work of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. This final work of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a believer is called Entire Sanctification.

The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire and the truth of the New Testament records had finally got Hubert Lindsey’s full attention. God had been showing Hubert Lindsey how to get self out of the way for years. All Hubert had to do was to let go of the old Hubert and let God take over! Hubert realized if he got out of the way the truth of Entire Sanctification through the Spirit would destroy the old Hubert! He claimed he learned this from the Word of God. As a matter of fact his whole Theology was destroyed also. He had to re-learn the Bible from this perspective. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire spoken of by John the Baptist and Jesus himself was now brought to full revelation upon Hubert Lindsey’s thinking after being a Baptist for 26 years. The beauty of this revelation was this Baptism is a baptism that destroyed a still existing fallen nature in the life of Hubert Lindsey. Hubert was unsettled on that truth for many years! God wanted to destroy what Hubert Lindsey contemplated in his thinking for 26 years. On the human side the struggle with self that came from the Old man in Hubert Lindsey’s life was crucified. Through the Spirit's work of Sanctification the Adamic nature that still tried to rule in the life of Hubert Lindsey was destroyed through the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire.

• Rom 6:6… Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

After being entirely sanctified the Holy Spirit renewed Hubert. Everything in his theology was changed. Everything in his thinking was changed. God delivered Hubert from the Devil’s prison house. After being a Baptist for 26 years Entire Sanctification from the Old Hubert was found to be the missing link. Within that missing link the foundation of the Word in Hubert’s heart had been misconceived and taken out of its proper context. Confusion from the Baptist teaching and practice was a result in Hubert’s mind. Hubert realized the doctrine of "once save always saved" had been hindering the fullness of Salvation for years in his personal life. This fullness of Salvation and change of theology that was given to Hubert’s heart only came through the Sanctifying power of the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire.
One night in the basement of the little Methodist Church Hubert died to self and asked God to sanctify his heart entire. Through Hubert Lindsey’s brokenness Christ filled him with the Holy Ghost and fire that night! As a result Hubert was sanctified from the Old man and spoke in unknown tongues as taught in the Bible. Contrary to the Baptist doctrine Hubert was doing something very much scriptural and realized why. That night God confirmed the truth in Hubert Lindsey’s heart and soul. Hubert realized this Biblical gift from the Holy Spirit did not cease at the Early Church as he had always been taught. The result was Hubert’s entire Calvinistic and Baptist theology went straight down the drain. Hubert Lindsey was filled with the Holy Ghost and preached Entire Sanctification the rest of his life as a preacher for Christ.

Christ’s Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire God made Hubert Lindsey a living witness to the fact that God can deliver any man from the Old Adam. Hubert realized traditional teachings and denominational teachings were not teaching the truth about Entire Sanctification as the Bible teaches. Deliverance from the Old Adam only comes upon a believer when he dies and receives the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. Many modern denominational teachings miss that very blessed experience. Hubert never went back to his old Theology nor did he ever quit teaching the truth about Entire Sanctification as long as he lived. Revivals were birthed many times throughout Hubert’s ministry as result of preaching Entire Sanctification and the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. By the Grace of God Hubert’s uncompromising efforts were never in vain as peoples hearts and lives were changed under his ministry and that teaching. This writer and other disciples who were touched by Brother Lindsey’s ministry still carry on the doctrine of Entire Sanctification today.

The recent audio I posted (in the link below) about Brother Lindsey's experience with the "Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire" will confirm this Blog.

Christ is setting the Kingdom up "Now". How? Sanctification by fire!

In Paul's letter's to the Thessolonians the subject of fire from Heaven is often overlooked!

2 Thess 1:7-10...when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe

As Christian's draw closer to the coming of the Lord we are able to see that Christ "sets up" His Millennial Kingdom with fire from Heaven. This fire from Heaven not only renovates the Earth and melts the elements with fervent heat...The Apostle Peter made this profound statement...

2 Peter 3:10... But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

This fire from Heaven also purges the heart of the believer (today in the Church Age) from the inner conflict caused from the Adamic Nature that man is born with. The Prohet Malachi and john the baptist both forseen this sanctifying power I'm writing about.

Mal 3:2-3...But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifer of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

Matt 3:11-12...he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

The baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire "purifies" and "purges" the heart of a believer from all dross that causes the inner conflict to arise (in Christians) at this present time. For instance...

"Sanctifying fire from the baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire, will burn out...Ill will toward other men; worry about the problems of life; depression; uncertainty and instability with your everyday walk with Christ; flying off the handle in anger; wavering faith toward God; all things that try to arise from man's still existing fallen nature. Fire from the Spirit of God can rid man of carnal inclinations! Fire will burn out and remove the old nature from the heart of a Christian...completely!"

God wants "full possession" of the heart of a believer. Sanctified people are "purged" with the fire of the Spirit of God that cleanses man from the inherited carnal inclination. This inner conflict can cause many believers to fall away from Christ...unaware! This inner conflict I speak of can cause many to be unaware when Christ actually returns! This inner conflict I speak of is dangerous and deceptive! That mindset caused from the inner conflict can even cause people to fall away from the Lord of Glory before He returns!

2 Thess 2:3...for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first,

God's fire from Heaven purifies and takes away this inner conflict that hinders the believer from having peace, like God. Sure, men can weave back and forth and in and out of peace with God...but I said, "Peace like God". When I say peace like God I mean man can get to a place in life where he's not disturbed or upset with the problems of life. God doesn't get disturbed or upset! The sanctified man like God can have this "full certainty" that every problem and every need in his life is taken care of by the God of our Salvation. God doesn't get upset or disturbed with anything! Glory! So, likewise sanctified men don't either. This kind if peace (Peace like God has) is the blessing of the "entirely sanctified" heart.

Col 3:15...And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,

This kind of peace and this kind of foundation and establishment of the believer (with a sanctified heart) allows the believer to delightfully await, and look forward to the glorious return of the Lord. I'm ready for Christ's return, are you? Examine the following...Notice Paul says... to the end which means the end of this Age, or the end of your Christian life!

1 Thess 3:13...To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

When Christ has full sway of man... this sanctified man is prepared for Christs return. Those sanctified people I speak of are also scattering this truth about entire sanctification and Christ's preparation to set up His Kingdom on Earth with fire. In the 1000 year Reign every man that rules and reigns with Christ in that Millennial Kingdom will have a sanctified heart purified from the carnal nature. Sanctified people are "preserved" in this life...as they wait for Christ's soon return to set up His Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. Sanctified people look forward to Christ's coming because they are not distracted by the the problems of life, or the cares of the world, nor are they entangled in the devices of the Devil.

1 Thess 5:23...And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This preservation described in the above Scripture is a result of the Holy Ghost and fire that "purifies" the believer in Christ from "all" the dross and all the impurities that upset, disturb, or hinder the child of God from being "entirely taken over" or "preserved" until the day of Christ's coming. This Sanctification or preservation I write about and preach... is the will of God for the saints! Glory!

1 Thess 4:3-4... For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

Sanctification with fire is not limited to man's "heart purity and preservation" only. The fire from the Spirit of God also renovates the entire earth in preparation for Christ to set up His earthly Kingdom of Heaven in the Millennial Reign. Notice once again the fire from Christ... in the following verses...

2 Peter 3:10-12...But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Every man that rules and reigns with Christ for 1000 years in the blessed Millennial Kingdom will have a sanctified heart! Sanctification is necessary for man to rule and reign with Christ! Today in this present Church Age the doctrine of entire sanctification is not taught like it should be. As a result, many people will not be ready when Christ comes to Rapture His Church before the Great Tribulation, and the great and terrible dy of our Lord. Christ will come when some men are unaware or yielding to the outer conflicts of life. There's a chance they can miss Christ. A sanctified man is never unaware of his walk in the Spirit, never discontented with the problems of life, and never upset with what's going on around him. A sanctified man is always ready for the Lord's return...in season and out! A sanctified man walks with a consciousness and obedience to Christ every day of his life. A sanctified man lays his head on the pillow with Christ, sleeps with Christ in mind, and wakes up ready to serve Christ everyday...with a whole heart!

Sanctified people have "put off" the war in their members caused from the inner conflict. Sanctified people have put off the carnal heart, the carnal ambitions, the carnal interests, the carnal plans, and the carnal habits! By doing such they have crucified and put to death...the old man that causes many Christians to miss their entire sanctification and preservation in Christ! PUT OFF THE OLD MAN, LIKE TAKING OFF A COAT!

Eph 4:22...That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

You have to die to self! Sanctified men are dead men! Sanctified men don't die daily! To be honest that progressive mindset causes certain men to miss the "actual death to the Old Man". This tradgety can leave men unaware of deliverance from the carnal heart and the delightfulness of looking forward to Christ's coming with no conviction! What a dangerous place to be! Sanctified men are "dead to the old life". Dead men are sanctified men filled with the Holy Ghost and fire. The fire has burnt up all the dross of the inner conflict that still tries to rule and conflict with the divine nature. Sanctified men are blessed enough to have "put off" or "crucified" the Old man! Sanctified men are "dead" to the old things they were interested in. They are dead to the old habits and ambitions! Sanctified men are dead men and martyrs for Christ in their witness! Dead men don't show the old life".

Col 3:3...For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Old Testament prophecy teaches that Christ is like a "refiners fire."..and that He will purify...

Glory! I'm glad we're under the blessing of the New Testament where sanctification is produced by the Grace of God! I'm glad God's sanctifying fire burns up "all the dross" in the heart of Christians! We are more than saved we have the complete victory over every circumstance in life! We're contented! Christ takes away the struggle, completely! We have victory because of Jesus! The Grace of God sanctifies us from the old man, completely and entirely! Glory! This writer preaches the Holy Ghost and fire! I preach Christ's renovation with fire when He comes back to set up His Kingdom on Earth in the Millennial Reign of 1000 years. I preach sanctification with fire and renovation with fire... at ChristianBlog.com! GLORY!

All this teaching came from the theme of Paul's letter to the Thessalonians...FIRE , SANCTIFICATION, and THE PRESERVATION OF HIS SAINTS... UNTIL CHRIST RETURNS TO SET UP HIS MILLENNIAL KINGDOM ON EARTH FOR 1000 YEARS! GLORY!

When Holy Hubert "fathered" the Jesus movement...there was a great awakening on the West Coast

Since the Early Church there were many revivals that took place in the pages of history. If look closely you will find that where ever these type of awakenings occurred... the Bible Doctrine of Entire Sanctification was being taught. "Holy" Hubert Lindsey who adamantly taught Entire Sanctification proclaimed the greatest awakenings in history followed this type of Bible Doctrine. Being a former Calvinist, Brother Lindsey recognized this fact after being hindered from receiving the Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire, for 35 years while he was a Baptist minister. He was sanctified entire somewhere in the mid 60's where his complete minstry and theology was changed for the glory of Christ!

In the "Early Church" after the death and resurrection of Christ the Apostles taught Entire Sanctification and Revival broke out there! John Wesley taught Entire Sanctification in the 1600’s and Revival broke out there! During the 1900’s at Azusa Street Entire Sanctification was being taught and Revival broke out there! In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s Hubert Lindsey was teaching Entire Sanctification on the West Coast. Revival broke out there also! That monumental move of the Spirit of God (through Holy Hubert's) preaching became the birth of the Jesus Movement.

The Jesus Movement was a move of the Spirit that swept Revival across the West Coast and converted people to Christ by the thousands. These converts were people from every walk of life and not just the Organized Church crowd. These were people that gave their hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ for personal forgiveness for their sins. These converts even began witnessing for Christ and Revival broke out even more! Signs, wonders, and miracles were following! Evidence of a resurrected Christ was being manifested just like in the days of the early Church! People were finding Christ by the thousands! Some of those people who found Christ at that time are still in Christ today in 2010. Their testimonies are posted on the Internet (under Holy Hubert Lindsey) 30-40 years later. What a great proof that Christ lives and changes the heart of man! What a great testimony for the power of a resurrected Christ being preached in the 70’s!

The New Testament teaches about an “awakening after the death of Christ” that is recorded in the Acts of the Apostles chapters 2, 3, 4. That awakening showed Revival that broke out in the hearts of preachers of the Gospel, after the resurrection of Christ. The Apostles Peter and John were sanctified Entire through the baptism with the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost. Peter and John were moved by the Spirit of God and boldly preached the Gospel after the resurrection of Christ. What beautiful evidence of the work of God in Revival! Brother Lindsey who was moved by the same Holy Ghost in the 60’s and 70’s knew this same kind of Revival! All these great men of God preached the truth about Entire Sanctification.

The work of God in the Jesus Movement in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s brought peace to rioting crowds of protest on the West Coast during and after the Viet Nam war era. The Jesus Movement spread across the nation to “Explo” which was a major public Christian event in 1972. "Explo 72" took place in a gathering at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX. The Jesus Movement brought peace on the Berkeley Campus to radical crowds such as anti-war protesters, the Socialist Party, and the Nazi Party. Remember, drugs like LSD, MDA, Speed, and marijuana was on the rise inside a certain culture of people throughout America. Orgy-sex and sensuality was a major trend and huge Rock and Roll concerts with Psychedelic music were spreading like wildfire. There was a complete culture of people forming within the younger generation on the West Coast and throughout America at that time. Among those people who experienced Revival was the Hippie movement and also those known as the flower children. God extended His hand of love and mercy to that people.

The Jesus Movement birthed Revival. Through the Spirit of Christ that Brother Lindsey preached the miracle of the new birth was manifested within the hearts of many during those years. This Jesus Movement and the period of time of time it took place were approximately 65 -70 years after the Azusa Street Revival. Remember, Entire Sanctification was being taught by Brother Lindsey at that time. If Entire Sanctification was taught more today in the mainstream you’d witness more Holy Ghost Revival today!

Everything on this Blog and in this writers heart...supports the doctrinal views of Brother Holy Hubert Lindsey. Entire Sanctification is not taught today and will never be a popular doctrine. Why? Entire Sanctification requires a moral obligation to God because of death to self. read more about this doctrine on this Blog. In a glimpse of Calvary...

As redemption is ministered to the heart of a believer, Divine revelation from the Holy Spirit provides man with a glimpse of Calvary. Although Calvary is revealed to the human soul through the word of truth and prophetic utterances, Divine Revelation comes to man through the Holy Spirit’s witness.

1 John 5:10…He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself:

In a glimpse of Calvary God’s goodness moves the human soul enough to help man to escape the bondage of sin. Through a single glimpse of Calvary man can even be swayed enough by God to change the way he desires, acts, and behaves in sight of God. Godly repentance (which comes from the Holy Spirits conviction) becomes the unbeliever’s path to an acceptance of the redemptive work of Christ on a cross. Through the power of Calvary the Holy Spirit’s witness gives the believer a new desire… to stop sinning. This God given righteousness is a result of mans faith alone in the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. Right living which follows belief, allows the Holy Spirit’s witness to teach, testify, and continue to make Christ known to the heart of a believer. This Divine revelation is also the basis of the forgiveness of sins and removal of guilt from the human conscience.

Heb 10:14-15…For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us:

From man’s first Glimpse of Calvary redemption becomes an actual experience in the life of a believer. The sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit enlightens a believer to more than forgiveness of sins received at the new birth. The old nature of man is now subject to the presence of the Holy Spirit's regenerating power, and no longer has liberty to go its own way. A newly received divine nature produced by the new birth now rules the life of a believer. This witness from the Holy Spirit (the new nature) takes possession of the inherited fallen nature (or the negative part of man) that often tries to rule in the life of a believer. Holiness of character rules the heart of a child of God. The new nature that comes through the power of Calvary severs the believer away from an existing ego that still tries to rule or rise up. Many believers in Christ struggle with this conflict from the old life and a Christ centered nature of a new life in the Spirit. Through the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, God reveals to a believer the Old nature must be destroyed in the believer’s new life in Christ. By Divine revelation another glimpse of Calvary becomes a path to a believer’s crucifixion of self which is… death to the Old Man.

• Death pertains to many personal things such as…ambitions, desires, affections, appetites, interests, habits, etc. These are certain things man pays attention to most in life.

Two crucifixions are recorded in the Bible. Of course the crucifixion of Christ is one crucifixion but the other is the unusual crucifixion of the still existing Old Man. The crucifixion of the Old man is when the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit gets the believer totally away from himself and places him into perfect harmony with God. This work of the Holy Spirit takes man away from…Self. How? The sacrifice of self is recognized through the sanctifying work that comes from God. Sanctification comes through power that comes from the sacrifice of Christ at Calvary.

Enlightenment to Calvary is testified to the heart of man by revelation from the Holy Spirit. Enlightenment to Calvary reveals more than forgiveness of sins. It shows man how to get rid of an inner struggle from self. This work of the Spirit’s witness reveals that man must die to all that he is. (Dying daily is not to be implied here as many believe). Man thus knows the crucifixion of self when he knows the crucifixion of Christ at Calvary.

The Spirit’s work is not limited only to placing a desire in the new convert’s heart to stop practicing sin. The sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit exposes and uproots the negative part of man’s nature which produces nothing good in the sight of God. Through this work of the Holy Spirit a believer also comes to a realization of his helplessness and inability that stems from the fallen nature. When man realizes that his trust should be totally placed in Christ for everything in life the Spirit gets him away from a self centered negative side. The Old life thus becomes dead and buried as the life of a child of God transforms into a living sacrifice acceptable to God. Enlightenment to the sacrifice of Christ at Calvary becomes the Spirit’s path… to the sacrifice of the Old Man.

Rom 12:1… I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Putting off the Old Man (like taking off a coat) allows the Fullness of the Holy Spirit to take over mans entire being, body, soul, and spirit. After man puts off all that he is, the inherited body of sin is destroyed through the Fullness of Sanctification which in another term is… the baptism with Holy Ghost and fire. No longer is an indwelling fallen nature of man a hindrance to the fullness of the indwelling Spirit. Man thus empties all of self and separates from conformity to the world; Christ’s baptism from heaven thus becomes a final transformation into the fullness of an entirely sanctified man. When the Old man is put off completely the heart of a believer is not only cleansed and purified but that life is renewed through the Spirits work of Entire Sanctification. Renewal which comes after sanctification is a totally committed life of faith and obedience in Christ without an inner struggle. This renewal only comes through a second glimpse of Calvary. Man’s second glimpse of Calvary has more meaning than the first. Unlike the first glimpse of Calvary which comes in the life of a sinner… the second glimpse of Calvary comes in the life of a believer through a transformation from worldly ties and renewal in the inner man.

Rom 12:2…And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Believing in Christ and a first glimpse of Calvary forgives the penitent from all past sins. A second Glimpse of Calvary gets the believer away from an inherited fallen nature that compels him to struggle against the work of God. Sanctification through the Spirit is God’s means of offering the power of redemption to every human soul. The power of the Holy Spirit’s witness helps any man regardless of his condition of heart, to recognize Calvary above all things.

The new birth at salvation of the soul (through the forgiveness of sins) is not a progressive work of the Holy Spirit…its instantaneous. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost (that destroys the Adamic nature) is not a progressive work of the Holy Spirit…its instantaneous. Dying totally to the old life “is” a progressive work. This progressive death to the old life is only revealed to the heart of a believer …through a believer’s glimpse of Christ at Calvary.
