Disciples had the Spirit before the crucifixion

During His earthly ministry Jesus spoke of "another Comforter" pointing to the Spirit of Truth or the Holy Spirit. Even though the Grace dispensation had not yet started nor had the Church been birthed - Jesus stated these disciples "knew" the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit "dwelled" with them.

John 14:16-17...And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Moreover Jesus stated the Holy Spirit would be "in" them making another reference to the future power of the Indwelling Spirit. The New Testament records (after the death of Christ) define the work of the Indwelling Spirit as the Baptism with the Holy Spirit relative to the experience of the day of Pentecost. This event being suggested by Jesus when He told the disciples to tarry in Jerusalem where they would be "endued with power from on high".

Luke 24:44...And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
