The suffering of our Christ

Jesus professed soul suffering in Matt 26:38...Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death:
"The soul of man is the part of man that chooses or decides."
The soul suffering of Christ was prophesied in the Old Testament by the Prophet Isaiah.

 Isa 53:12...because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors;

Could you imagine making the decision of going to Calvary for a cruel death of crucifixion?

Soul suffering took place before Calvary. Soul suffering was Christ's decision as a man...to do the will of the Father. Soul suffering humbled Christ to obedience...even the death of the cross.

Phil 2:8...And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Soul suffering "ceased" at Calvary. By the Grace of God...Christ's physical death paid the price to bring us a better covenant than the covenant of Law. Soul suffering and physical death ceased at Calvary. The Church was birthed! The ministry of the Holy Spirit was given! God's greatest morality was given to the human family by the Grace of God!

Heb 2:9-10...But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things,

Christ said, "It is finished".

John 19:30...When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Jesus never struggled as a man,"He was God in the flesh!" "Jesus' soul travailed as He suffered in obedience to the Father..to redeem humanity". Jesus had all power and authority! The expression that Jesus was in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights simply described His obedience unto (physical) death.

Jesus told the thief on the cross, "Today" you shall be with me in Paradise.

Luke 23:43...And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Paradise is Heaven! Paradise is the abode of the Father and Christ seated on their Thrones. Paradise is where the souls of redeemed saints go when their physical body is placed in the grave.

At death to the physical body...the redeemed soul goes to Paradise. All redeemed saints that go to Heaven will receive a glorified body as Christ's body was also glorified!

Luke 24:39-40...Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

No sensationalism! No mysterious trip to Hell! No Struggle or Battle with Satan over the keys! Just simply "Bible Truth" as it's written! Read it for yourself! Don't run wild with the opinions of men!
