The human soul is the part of man that chooses and decides. The human soul is naturally out of harmony with God.
God said: Isaiah 55:8...For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Without a broken human will - man is naturally out of harmony with God. The natural man chooses and decides right living - but does wrong anyway. Without strength. Without power to do right. Human involvement falls short.
When the human will is broken by the ministry of the Holy Spirit - a new birth can take place. The new birth involves the operation of God.
