Hiding the Word of God in the heart

Scriptures in the Old Testament taught - the Word was to be "hid" in the heart so that Jewish people would not sin against God.

Psalm 119:11...Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

The Word of God was the Law and Commandments. The Torah was the first five books in the Bible. The 613 Commandments were the standard of God given to Jewish people to keep Israel in "obedience" to the God. In that day and hour before the death of Christ; before Grace flowed from the Cross at Calvary; and before the Holy Spirit developed the Church, the body of Christ...The commandments were "learned and lived" by the Jewish people as a act of faith in God. In order for Israel to be holy they were to learn, study, and meditate the Law and Commandments contained in the Torah. By doing such Israelite's were able to grasp and absorb the standards of God's Law - which forbid sin and sinful conduct. God's Law pointed out sin and told the recipient "to do" or "not to do" certain things that were outside of God's standard.

James 2:10...For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

If the Word was hid or absorbed into the heart it was able to keep man from sinning against the Law of God. Sin was and is a violation to the Law of God. The Law and 613 commandments given to Israel on Mt. Sinai were the greatest set of morals ever written...before Christ died. After the death of a Savior on the Cross....Grace came and allowed God's Holy Spirit to provide a moral standard of holiness much greater than the holiness of Law. It was the holiness of the Spirit of God that writes the Law of God - upon the the tables of a believing heart.

Hebrews 10: 15,16...Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

In the Old Testament Israel worked and hid the Word in their heart to keep the standard. In the New Testament we hold on to Christ and by doing such we live the standard of God...according to the Spirit of holiness. A blessing of the New Testament and the power of God's Grace. As the Apostle Paul stated,

Romans 6:14...For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under Grace.

Moses lifted the serpent - God lifted Christ

  • When Moses lifted the serpent to display God's deliverance from Egyptian religion and bondage - all of Israel knew God's operation and blessing was the greatest blessing in all the land of Israel. Great miracle and victory as Israel passed through the Red Sea - then came the giving of Law - as they entered into the land of Canaan!

  • When God lifted up Christ and displayed a Savior on the cross - He revealed to all the world the greatest blessing in the history of humanity. Great victory produced by the Grace of God thus flowed from Calvary.

John 3:14...And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

Honor God

You're equipped by God to do right and live right. Right came down from Heaven in the person of Christ.Today right flows from the person of an exalted Christ who is back in Heaven.

Righteousness gives the believing heart the ability to honor God. Righteousness is enough power to keep you from dishonoring God. You're equipped with a God-given righteousness.

Righteousness flows from our Savior and flows into the soul. Morally the believer has the power to honor God in everyday life.

Christians honor God in everyday life. What a blessing! You're equipped! Bless God and bless people...with the same blessing God blessed you with. Be a witness for Christ.Tell others about the blessing of God's righteousness that gives you the power and strength to bring honor to God.

Thanksgiving update

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving holiday in the US. I will be cooking 15 lb. turkey and having the family over.

Also, I'm told the fix is coming for the certain audios that are not playing at Churches on Trial. Slow process...but will be fixed.

I send love and regards to all that use this sight to learn the Bible and grow in the Grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This site is here to help you to learn Bible Truth.

Brother Lindsey wanted it that way. I live to do it myself.  This Blog now goes steadily around the globe and is used daily by many.

God bless you all and Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate that holiday tomorrow.

Blessings to our Brethren in Colombia, Russia, Germany, Israel, Hong Kong, Viet Nam, UK, South Korea, France, Nigeria, Africa, and Singapore.

Redemption from Christ - on a personal level

Redemption is a personal thing between you and the Savior. Redemption deals with the believer and the believer's present tense relationship with God in Christ. A redeemed heart is a forgiven heart; a clean heart; and a heart that desires right living. In redemption...sins from the past are erased. Life in the present tense is a life in right-standing with God. Redemption is consciousness to the presence of Christ; and accountability in the holiness of the Spirit. Personal faith in Christ is a responsible life to Christ...on a daily basis. Redemption is received in personal forgiveness. Redemption is pardon from all past sin. Redemption is a new way of thinking because the heart and soul has been cleansed. Redemption gives the believer in Christ - a new confession.

...Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.

The confession of redemption is heart-felt and flows from the Holy Spirit's witness in the heart. The confession of a sinner is not a confession of redemption found in the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus Christ. Sin defeats redemption. Sin separates man from life. Sin and death have no place in redemption.

Romans 5:8-11...But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Atonement that flows from Calvary brings redemption to the human soul in the present tense. Atonement that flows from Calvary is not blanket coverage to sin, nor does Atonement cover future sin. Atonement is a "present tense blessing" found from personal faith in the suffering of a Savior. By His obedience are many made righteous. Redemption is the out flow of Calvary. Personal faith in Christ brings redemption into the human soul. Personal faith in Christ allows God to redeem, to pardon, and to justify. This is what it means to be Justified by the blood of Christ. Redemption saves the believing soul from the wrath to come. Redemption reconciles and saves man by giving hope and peace to the human soul.

Joy bubbles from within when the conscience is clear from the guilt of sin. Being happy is the confidence of the redeemed of Christ. Peace, joy, and happiness are the products of the redemptive work of Christ in the human soul. Redemption offers the believer in Christ a clean heart and the holy life. That's why scriptures teach, "by whom we have now received the atonement". The word "now" is a present tense word with no relation to a future tense covering of sin.

Redemption is present tense. Redemption is a personal blessing from God. Redemption makes people accountable to God in the present tense. Don't take redemption for granted to cover your future sin. Redemption will give you the power to cease from sin; to live right, and to do right. Redemption produces holiness of character. Redemption is responsibility to Christ. Redemption is a part of God's Word that condemns sin and never condones sin. Redemption blots out sin. Redemption makes you holy and right in the eyes of God. Redemption should never be taken lightly. Redeemed people want to make the long haul with Christ.

Redemption is deliverance. Deliverance is freedom from the bondage of sin. We confess redemption to "magnify" Christ as Savior and Redeemer. Redeemed saints have hope of going to Heaven. Those who are not redeemed have no real hope and end up in Hell. Some have been redeemed for 20 - 40 years and then go back into  fornication, alcohol, or adultery. Redemption will not automatically cover such style of living or sin that bringeth death to the human soul. If one dies in an unredeemed state that soul is Hell bound for 50 million years plus...whether they believed redemption covered their sins or not.  Sin melts away in redemption that brings forth the holy and eternal future. When sin is finished it bringeth forth death..

James 1:15...Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Death has no place in redemption. Redemption abolishes death and brings forth life in the Spirit of God. Redemption is in the "now". Redemption is on personal level. The human soul longs for redemption but sin keeps the unredeemed mind blind to the consequences of Eternal damnation. Redemption is found in the suffering of Christ. Redemption is found in the suffering of Christ. Redemption is found in the suffering of Christ. Without redemption the human soul is lost. Without faith in Christ its impossible to be redeemed. The redeemed of Christ have a testimony because they experience the witness of God in their soul.  The redeemed have a daily walk with God because they are cleansed from sin. The redeemed of Christ walk in the Spirit, not in the flesh. Personal redemption is crucial to your witness; crucial to your light; and crucial to the assurance of life beyond this life. The redeemed of Christ bring honor to God, not dishonor. The redeemed of Christ live by the power of God's Grace and do not disgrace Him. Let the redeemed of the Lord, "Say so"...because they "know" and "experience" personal redemption. That's why it says the conscience is "purged" from dead works .

Hebrews 9:14...How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Grace removes guilt from sin

The only thing in life that can remove guilt from the human conscience is the Grace of God. God speaks "pardon" to the human soul. Rest in the soul is experienced. Peace from God is made known. Guilt from all past sin is lifted when reconciliation is found in the redemptive work of Christ.
