Psalm 23 - a prophetic utterance

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. (Like a shepherd God took care of His son Jesus during the earthly ministry; like a shepherd He'll take care of you now in the body of Christ)

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. (Christ had perfect peace in His heart for 33 years - Christians have the same peace on Earth)

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. (Christ was born of a virgin and clothed with humanity, He was without spot and sinless. Those who accept Christ are restored and led by the Spirit)

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (Christ endured hardships and died a miserable death of crucifixion, but the authority of God was behind Him every step of the way. Jesus was confident and trusted the Father in every adverse situation He encountered. The Rod and staff represent authority)

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. (Oil represents God's ownership. Jesus was anointed of God with the Holy Spirit and became a High priest after the order of Melchizedek. When you are God's property nothing can harm you)

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (God's mercy works through His ministers; Jesus was eternal and so is the child of God)
