Commit these things to faithful men...

Brother Lindsey committed these teachings to men like me to pass on to others like you. Are you faithful or unfaithful to Christ? You can't be both. The scriptures say to commit these things to "faithful" men. Why? Faithful men carry these teachings throughout life's journey as a Christian and Christian witness for Christ into a lost world. I admit the teachings of Divine Grace are deep and rich ...but the main thing is, "They are pure". Purity is the end result of Bible Truth and is produced by the Grace of God behind this message. Purity is the essence of Bible Truth and the work of the Holy Spirit in the human soul. Purity is something no man can have without Christ. Purity brings contentment to the personal life and to the domestic life of a Christian.

Brother Lindsey always joyfully stated he was holy, healthy, and happy! This writer likewise states the same joy. As a matter of fact I enjoy teaching holiness and purity because it brings honor to God. It brings out the truth of the Bible in a cold dark world of so many needs. It lets every man know that Christ can provide a better life. I'm thankful that Brother Lindsey brought the truth about holiness, purity, and clean living to this writer at the age of 33. Today (22 years later) that truth has blessed Rick Roehm, restored his marriage, laid a course of life for his future, and offers holy influence to his family, offspring, and neighbors.

What Brother Lindsey committed to this writer was sound doctrine and Bible Truth that many people never experience in this life...but I did and I'm thankful for it! I'm contented with it! I appreciate it so much that I preach it and publicize it at this Blog! I'm also thankful that God has given me a way to commit these things to faithful men ! Why? So faithful men can teach others also!

2 Tim 2:2...And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Biblical evidence of the carnal heart...the depravity of man

The depravity of man is taught in almost every book in the Bible. This teaching shows man his need of a Saviour.

· (Genesis 3: 15) The fall … in the garden of the Eden (The original sin)

· (Genesis 6: 5) …the imagination of the thoughts of his heart was evil continually…

· (Genesis 8: 21) ... the imagination man's heart was evil from his youth.

· (Psalms 51: 5) … in sin my mother conceived me, (born in sin)

· (Psalms 58: 3) …the wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they are born speaking lies.

· (Jeremiah 17: 9)… heart is deceitful…

· (Ecclesiastes 9: 3) …the heart of the sons of men is full of evil.

· (Isaiah 55:8) “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are my ways your ways”, says the Lord.

· (John 7:7) … the world hates me because I testified to it that its works are evil.

· (John 3:19) … and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

· (John 3: 20) …for everyone that does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, for fear that his deeds should be exposed.

· (Romans 3: 9)… "all" under the dominion of sin

· (Romans 5: 19) … for by one man's disobedience (Adam) many were made the sinners.

· (Romans 5: 21) … sin reigned in death… (the sinful nature)

· (Romans 7: 5) … when we were in sin…

· (Romans 7: 9, 10) … I was alive once without the law but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

· (Romans 7: 14)… Carnal "sold" under sin. Adam sold the human family out.

· (Ephesians 2:3)… we had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind: and were by nature to children of wrath.

The present Grace Age we now live under

Notice the language in the following verse concerning the power and blessing of God's Divine Grace. Also note...the Grace of God is what brings salvation to the soul of man.

Titus 2:11-14... For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Did you know that the present Grace Age we now live under is what keeps the Omnipresence of the Holy Spirit present in our lives? One of the greatest blessings of the Grace dispensation we now live under is the Church, the body of Christ. Here's a beatiful picture of the revelation God gave the Apostle Paul.

Eph 3:1-9... For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to youward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

The Old Testment relationship between Israel and God is now broadened to a much larger and greater picture. Now, both Jew and Gentile could have a holy relationship with God through Christ in His spirtual body. The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ united both Jew and Gentile into a covenat relationship with God. This covenat realtionship was called the Grace Covenant. This great blessing is the Grace period of time we now live under in the Church the body of Christ! Christ purchased the Church with His own blood. The New Testament is now granted by God to both Jew and Gentile through the omnipresence of the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul called this period of time, "The dispensation of the fulness of times".

Eph 1:10-13...That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Much of the present Religious World doesn't realize that we live under the blessing of God's Divine Grace today in 2009! I write these things only to magnify the Christ in whom I serve with a whole heart. More later...

Glory to Christ who purchased the Church with His own blood...This Church I speak of is not limited to four walls only neither does it have stained glass windows. This Church I speak of is a spiritual body that consists of many different members who know Christ for the forgiveness od sins. To become a member the only thing that's needed is forgiveness of your sins through trusting Christ's death only to recieve such.

Heb 9:15-17... And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

What about those who lose faith in Christ?

The writer of this Blog states, "They don't give "all" to Christ. They weave in and out of an Eternal Salvation. One day they're converted the next day they're lost. God's Grace is always there however; the problem is...man's faith from the heart is lost and unconnected to God through the Spirit. The heart of a natural man is governed by the flesh...not the Spirit. There are many things that nurture the flesh (the mind, will, and body) of man...and here are a few comments about such.

Men can lose faith for many reasons but often times its because of erroneous Bible doctrine that has been drilled into their thinking. Hopes and futures have been crushed in unlimited numbers through the modern day prosperity messages that deceive. Erroneous doctrines are only able to satisfy mans emotions and interest levels for a short period...then the newness of knowledge wears off and these unstable men veer back into the old life and the old ways. They were slighted of truth from God or the truth was perverted which in turn deceived them. The point is...shallow knowledge about the person of Christ and the Bible causes men to lose faith and thus can cause them to depart from conversion received at Salvation. Personal interests and personal ambitions have caused men by the hundreds to lose faith and lose the converted heart.

Sound doctrine from the Bible mixed with faith from the heart puts Christ above all these things and keeps man from losing Salvation and the clean heart. Wavering faith allows man to reason within himself rather than fully trusting the Grace of God. When self rules the heart, man will be opposed to the truth and ways of God. This conflict in the heart of man opens doors and allows major problems to arise in the personal life of a beliver in Christ. These major problems create the war within the heart of man. This internal war has caused many men for centuries to depart from Christ. Why? Sinful conduct alone...not ignorance.

True faith from the heart is mans trust in Christ's death alone for the forgiveness of sins. True faith renders holiness of heart and conduct in the eyes of God. A faithful man puts obedience to Christ above disobedience that causes men to give up the converted heart. If man becomes powerless in disobedience to God rather than obedience to God the inner struggle will cause man to fall so much, that he will lose his God given desire to live holy and right. When holiness is lost, time and time again...unholiness is found and man loses his true hope of future salvation. This kind of turmoil can take place over and over again like a pig wallowing in the mud or a dog returning to his vomit.

2 Peter 2:20-22...For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Man in this unstable condition will agree with society and even compromise the Word of Truth with his own will and his own intellect. Man thus believes in his own deception so much... that he departs from the new birth through sinful conduct. There is no excuse that a faithful man can ever find to give one single reason to God to leave an eternal holiness of heart and eternal Salvation found in Christ Jesus our Lord. This abundant life I write about is received… when conversion is made through the forgiveness of sins. This abundant life can be maintained with a holy heart.

I reiterate, reasons are many why men lose faith. They lose faith when they quit giving consent to Christ for the forgiveness of sins that brings conversion of the human soul. Conversion from the new birth found in Christ must be realized, accepted, and acted out in your personal walk with Christ. Without constant recognition of the moral change that comes from the new nature found in Christ...man has nothing to hold to except his own intellect, his great achievements, or his personal habits that society condones and accepts. Within these natural faculties man will find no earthly reason to maintain faithfulness to Christ who saved his soul. Man thus allows fleshly desires to outweigh a conversion granted by the Grace of God.

Temptation oftentimes causes men to depart from the faith. Swelled egos cause men to depart from the faith. Faith in Christ is constantly tried by the world, the flesh, and the Devil. That’s why the Bible teaches to “hold firmly” to your faith in Christ. Never let faith go, remain faithful, and God will bless your heart and life richly.

I can't help but to recognize the great cloud of witnesses that were recorded in the Bible for our edification, even in 2009. Holy and faithful men of God were written about and recorded in the Bible for you and I. I'm glad Christ, the Word of truth, and the Holy Spirit are available to us all...even in a present evil world! Glory to Christ who is the author and finisher of our faith! As taught in the Bible...we are kept by the power of God through faith...

What is the spirit of a "just man" made perfect?

The question and title of this Blog are taken from the verse below..

Heb 12:22-23...But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

What is the spirit of a just man? How is a just man made perfect? Is perfection present tense or future? Who are the just? The Bible teaches the just shall live by faith! A justified man is a man pardoned by the Grace of God. A just man has received the righteousness of God by faith in Christ. A just man is "right" in the sight of God because God declared him right.

Justification is a God given state that makes the soul of man eligible to receive Heaven at the point of death to the physical body. That's why Jesus told the thief on the cross, "Today thou shalt be with me in Paradise." The spirits of just men go directly to Heaven at the point of death. Why? These souls are justified and declared innocent in the eyes of God. God's redemption allowed the just man to be eligible for Eternal life in Heaven. These believers in Christ have peace, contentment, and hope in this present life. The guilt of sin has been lifted from that conscience and personal forgiveness has been granted to that soul because of trust in the sacrifice of Christ alone for forgiveness of sins.

Spirit's of just men can be made perfect in this life. Perfection is not a state that is only reached in Heaven's future tense. Perfection is another state the justified believer can obtain in this present life. Present tense perfection is obtained when the believing heart is sanctified from Indwelling sin. Some people try to make the following verse future tense - as they do not acknowledge the perfect work of God's sanctifying power in this present life. Justification (present tense) makes the believer eligible to receive Heaven when the body dies. Sanctification (present tense) is the perfect work of God's Holy Spirit that follows Justification! Both can be obtained in life - this side of Heaven!

Additional note:

The Greek text of the Bible says," the spirits of perfected just men"...putting perfection in the present tense.

Justification makes men eligible to be made perfect. In perfection God's sanctifying power rids the justified man of the Adamic life.

Justification gives man a holy heart. Holiness of heart allows man to be "sanctified" or "perfected"...in this present life after Justification is experienced.

Justification permits the initial work of the Holy Spirit in salvation and prepares the heart for the final work of Spirit that comes in sanctification or perfection...

Justification (a complete work) deals with the acts of sin

Sanctification removes the Adamic Nature

Perfection is the completed work of the Spirit in this life.

How does this Blog put the Churches on Trial?

Here's how!

Before Brother Lindsey died he made claim that he wished he would have taught these doctrines "more" in the earlier years of his ministry. The radio broadcast that Brother Lindsey hosted "rocked" Detroit in the late eighties by putting the local Churches on Trial. This stuff is sound doctrine and needs to be put into the mainstream.

Here's a for instance...

Christians can live without sin. Controversial! The Bible says so!
That the sin nature can be destroyed completely in this life. Controversial! The Bible says so!
That we live under Grace...not the Law of Moses! Controversial! The Bible says so!
That denomination is not mentioned in the Bible.
New Testament Church government! The Bible says that Apostles, Prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are gifts from Christ!
That Apostles are for today! Like the Apostle Paul!
No Christian has a legal right to divorce.
That the teachings of Christ (during His earthly ministry) were teachings of the Law of Moses. Read it for yourself!
That man can lose faith and thus separate from Eternal Salvation!
Progressive Sanctification or the process of maturing Spiritually...not taught in the Bible!
An on and on and on and on and on!

Many of the above subjects were preached and clarified by Brother Lindsey. This writer likewise teaches and advocates the same doctrines. That's the intent of this Blog! That's the intent of this writer! That was Brother Lindsey's wishes before he went to heaven. I believe God is behind this ministry...100%.

So, why does this put the local Churches on Trial? Here's Why. The Churches on Trial advocate, "Rightly dividing Gods Word". Many of the modern movements and large Church organizations have gotten away from New Testament Church Structure that makes the distinction between Law and Grace...The Kingdom message to Israel and the Gospel of the death, burial, and Resurrection to the Church and doctrines such as these. Why? These doctrines are not always appealing to the masses and large bodies...but that doesn't mean they are not true doctrines or that they are scripturally sound. It just means the large movements are not teaching or advocating such doctrines. Sometimes entertainment is more appealing to the masses than the truth about God's Word! Sometimes popularity is too! It's not all about popularity or whats appealing its about getting people rooted in Christ and the truth of God's Word!

I could go on and on but won't at this time. The only thing I want to say is that Brother Lindsey's preaching and teaching will continue at this Blog as long as I live. This material is important to everyone sinner and saint alike! It's greater than Theology or head knowledge...why? It's God breathed and ministered to the heart of man...by the Spirit of God! So what if it puts the Churches on Trial! Perhaps the modern Church World needs to be put on trial and possibly swayed from some of the things they are teaching! There would be less confusion in the Church World!

Our intent at Churches on Trial... is to stay in line with the New Testament truth and language of the Bible! If you find fault with what we're teaching let us know...we will examine closely or reevaluate if we're wrong.

God Bless from the Churches on Trial Blog for Christ.
